Welcome to iMMAP

iMMAP is a pioneering organization that is leading the way forward in the effective use of information management practices and principles in the service of humanitarian relief and development.

iMMAPs mission is to alleviate the pain and suffering of those in need. iMMAP accomplishes this important mission by providing decision makers at all levels with reliable, relevant, and timely information on which to act.

New approaches and new solutions are required to address a range of problems plaguing humanitarian responders. iMMAP applies appropriate information management practices and new information technologies in service to the humanitarian community, enabling them to solve the pressing global humanitarian challenges.

The iMMAP team was formed in late-1998, leading the first internationally-coordinated effort to combine information management, sociology and Geographic Information System technology to define the scourge of landmines and explosive remnants of war and change the way their impact on society is measured. iMMAP remains the premier humanitarian information management organization, guiding international crisis responders who work to alleviate the suffering of those most in need.
